As a pain was overcoming his chest last month, Rush Limbaugh thought it was “the big one”.

“I’ve never experienced that kind of pain before and I’ve always wondered what it felt like,” he told reporters Wednesday at Las Vegas’s Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino.

Though Limbaugh had feared that he had heart attack while vacationing in Hawaii in December, doctors told him it wasn’t. So what was it?

“We still don’t know what it was that happened,” Limbaugh, 59, says. “I got an angiogram and the doctors were stunned because there was no blockage, there was no arterial disease or coronary disease. They think it was an infection that caused an arterial spasm.”

Now, though, “Everything is fine,” he said.

Next up for Limbaugh, he is one of six judges at the 2010 Miss America Pageant on Saturday in Las Vegas, airing at 8 p.m. ET on TLC.

As for how he’ll judge the contestants, the staunch conservative said, “I don’t come in with any prejudice. I don’t care what their opinion is… This is not about finding Miss Conservative. I’ve already done that.”
