Rupert Murdoch and Jerry Hall Will Marry in London This Weekend
Rupert Murdoch and Jerry Hall announced their engagement last month
The couple will have a service in London on Saturday at the historic St Bride’s church on Fleet Street, according to Reuters. The wedding ceremony will take place in a yet-to-be disclosed location.
Murdoch, 84, and Hall, 59, dated for four months before getting engaged in January.
Hall, a former supermodel, dated Mick Jagger from 1977 to 1999 and is the mother of four of his children – Georgia May, 24, Elizabeth, 32, Gabriel, 18, and James, 30. The couple wed at an informal ceremony in 1990, though the marriage was later declared invalid.
This marriage will be Murdoch’s fourth. He split with his third wife, Wendi Deng, in 2013 after nearly 15 years of marriage.
The billionaire businessman also has a large brood: Prudence, James, 43, Lachlan, 44, Elisabeth, 47, Helen, 14, and Chloe, 12.
St Bride’s has earned the title of the “journalists’ church,” and dates back past 1672. The house of worship was designed by acclaimed English architect Christopher Wren, and features a wedding-cake-like spire. Fleet Street was once home to several of the U.K.’s major newspapers, including Murdoch’s own – The Times and The Sun.
The couple used The Times to share news of their engagement, posting a classified on the Births, Marriages and Deaths page.
“Mr Rupert Murdoch, father of Prudence, Elisabeth, Lachlan, James, Grace and Chloe Murdoch, and Miss Jerry Hall, mother of Elizabeth, James, Georgia and Gabriel Jagger, are delighted to announce their engagement,” the ad said.
