PHOTOS: Meet the Other Royals in Line to the Throne
PRINCE GEORGE OF CAMBRIDGE
In line to the throne: 3
He's here! Future king George Alexander Louis, born July 22, follows Prince Charles and daddy Prince William in the line of succession, followed by uncle Prince Harry. If Will and Kate eventually have more children, Harry and the rest of the royal relatives will find themselves further from the throne, as the little prince's siblings fall in line behind him.
In line to the throne: 15
Royal Ties: She doesn't hold a title at the request of mother Princess Anne, but Tindall, formerly Phillips, is a favorite of her granny, Queen Elizabeth. Just like cousin Prince William, the accomplished equestrian and former wild child, 32, is becoming a new parent: She and rugby-playing husband Mike Tindall are expecting their first child in early 2014.
In line to the throne: 12
Royal Ties: Zara's big brother, 35, married Canadian girl-next-door Autumn Kelly in 2008, and in 2010, gave the Queen her first great-grandchild, followed by a second in 2012 (daughters Savannah and Isla are 13th and 14th in the line of succession). Like his sister, Peter doesn't carry a title – and seems to be doing just fine without one: He's making a name for himself in the corporate world working for companies like Jaguar and Royal Bank of Scotland.
PRINCESSES BEATRICE & EUGENIE
In line to the throne: 6 amp 7
Royal Ties: The 24- and 23-year-old daughters of now-divorced Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson – a.k.a. the Duke and Duchess of York – have inherited their family's commitment to charitable works, with Beatrice running the London Marathon in 2010 on behalf of Children in Crisis. But like their high-profile cousins William and Harry, the sisters are popular tabloid targets: Beatrice recently spent some nights out with Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis, while Eugenie was once busted for frolicking naked at her boarding school.
In line to the throne: 23
Royal Ties: The 38-year-old Earl of Ulster, eldest child of the Queen's first cousin the Duke of Gloucester, attended Eton College, Prince William and Prince Harry's alma mater. Married for 11 years to physician Claire Booth, the father of two (Xan, 5, and Cosima, 3) was also a captain in the Royal Military who saw active duty in Kosovo in 2002.
LADY DAVINA LEWIS
In line to the throne: 26
Royal Ties: Alexander's less conventional sis, 35, broke from tradition when she married divorced Maori surfer Gary Lewis – son of a champion sheep shearer – in 2004, after the two met while vacationing in Bali. Four years later, the couple left England in favor of Lewis's more temperate homeland of New Zealand, and in 2010 welcomed daughter Senna, followed by son Tane in 2012.
LADY ROSE GILMAN
In line to the throne: 28
Royal Ties: Compared to sister Davina, the 33-year-old has lived a quiet life, marrying property developer Peter Gilman in 2008 (Duchess Kate attended the nuptials solo) and working as an art department assistant on 2007's Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.
LADY GABRIELLA WINDSOR
In line to the throne: 40
Royal Ties: A true glamour girl, the 32-year-old – daughter of Prince Michael of Kent, the Queen's cousin – was linked to Guy Ritchie in 2009. But she's more than a society fixture: She graduated from Brown University with a degree in journalism and has written for Tatler, The Spectator and other publications.
LORD FREDERICK WINDSOR
In line to the throne: 39
Royal Ties: Gabriella's older brother, 34, also has ties to the entertainment industry: He married Peep Show actress Sophie Winkleman in 2009; the two are expecting their first child in August. Though he admitted to cocaine use in 1999, he's since led a cleaner life, working as a private banker with J.P. Morgan.
LADIES MARINA & AMELIA WINDSOR
In line to the throne: Amelia, 31
Royal Ties: The 20- and 17-year-old sisters, first cousins twice removed of the Queen, are in a unique position: While Anglican Amelia is in the line of succession, Marina, a Roman Catholic along with the rest of her family, is not. The two sisters and their 24-year-old Oxford-educated brother, Lord Edward Downpatrick (a godson of the late Princess Diana) grabbed the spotlight in 2010 by doing a splashy photo shoot for Tatler magazine.
