Rosie Returns to Tonys

Rosie O’Donnell will grace this year’s Tony awards show after all, reports New York’s Daily News — just don’t look for her to serve as host. She’ll be a presenter. As for why she won’t take on the bigger role (her stints as host proved to be big ratings boosters for the show, which is Broadway’s equivalent of the Oscars): Rosie thinks the Tonys — to be held on June 6 this year — belong in Radio City Music Hall, so theater fans can buy tickets and sit in the audience along with Broadway VIPs. The only snag is that the 6,000-seat Hall is currently closed for renovations, with the Tonys set to take place at the 1,300-seat Gershwin Theater. “I didn’t want to be hosting something . . . fans might not be able to relate to,” says Rosie. “Radio City is big and splashy. People relate to that.”
