Rosie O’Donnell has posted a picture with her formerly estranged daughter Chelsea on Instagram.

On Thursday the comedian posted alongside a loving image of the pair: “chelsea and me – what a difference a year makes #hopelives.”

O’Donnell’s daughter Chelsea left home in August last year and was missing for several hours before police found her with her 25-year-old boyfriend, an alleged heroin addict. She then went to live with his family in New Jersey.

In February this year, the mother of five joked to a captivated audience during a stand-up set in New York about her family woes.

“My teenagers are a nightmare, they’re horrible,” she said. “I had four teenagers when I decided to adopt a newborn baby. You might ask why. Because I had four teenagers and I needed to remind myself that I actually do love children,” O’Donnell explained as the audience cracked up. “Because I would trade each teen for autistic triplets, I am just saying I would.”

A rep for Rosie told PEOPLE at the time that the situation with Chelsea was “heartbreaking on every level.”

However, it now looks as though the pair are back on good terms with one another.
