Rosie O'Donnell Hints at New Show

During a comedy routine, she says she's "filming for an unidentified TV station"

Rosie O’Donnell fueled rumors that she is coming back to television during a stand-up routine in New York on Tuesday.

“I don’t know if you heard, but I did a TV show last year,” the former View co-host cracked at Live at Lincoln Center, an event to kick off the New York Comedy Festival. “It’s over. It’s a new year, a new start. It’s a new beginning.”

O’Donnell, who is reportedly in talks with MSNBC to host a prime-time show, then said she is working on a new project. “We’re filming for an unidentified TV station, which I was told that I was not allowed to mention.”

She playfully teased the audience, saying, “You don’t tell me what I’m not allowed to say because then I can’t help but say it.” But O’Donnell remained mum. “They told me not to mention this possible show, and they are men in business suits. Nothing is scarier than men in business suits screaming at you over the phone.”

During her performance, O’Donnell also poked fun at Paula Abdul, Whitney Houston, Donald Trump – and Britney Spears.

She said that after watching Spears at the MTV Video Music Awards earlier this year, “I was a little bit scared about this evening.” While mimicking Spears’s lackluster dance moves, O’Donnell said, “I was thinking to myself, ‘Britney messed up on the VMAs, you could too.””

She added, “I wanna take her in to come and live with me, but I have to stop doing that. It’s like I think I’m on that show Intervention.

O’Donnell also welcomed a surprise guest: longtime friend Roseanne. Said the fellow comedian: “I love Rosie. She is the bravest motherf—-r out there. She’s so great.”
