The comedian says their relationship is "irretrievably broken," according to court documents
Rosie O’Donnell filed for divorce from her wife Michelle Rounds Friday in Manhattan State Supreme Court on the grounds of “an irretrievably broken relationship,” according to documents obtained by PEOPLE.
In a surprise announcement three weeks earlier, O’Donnell, 52, revealed she was separating from Rounds and leaving The View to focus on her health and her children.
O’Donnell and Rounds, 42, wed quietly in June of 2012 at their home in Nyack, New York. Since separating in November, they have shared custody of Dakota, the 2-year-old daughter they adopted together.
O’Donnell has four older children with her ex partner Kelli Carpenter.
According to the divorce papers, O’Donnell and Rounds have a prenuptial agreement.
