If anybody else had said it, the Anti-Defamation League would have jumped in. But Roseanne, who recently talked on her show about how she studies the Kabbala — the hot old Jewish mystical tradition that’s currently sweeping Hollywood (Barbra, Madonna, Courtney and Liz are said to be followers) — took a big swipe at DreamWorks partners Steven Spielberg and Jeffrey Katzenberg because of their movie about Moses, “The Prince of Egypt.” Said Roseanne on the air: “Only really dumb Jews would come up with that. I’d like to invite Katzenberg and Spielberg and all those other Bergs to come down here and study the words of God. God needs no rewrite … I’d like to apologize (for the movie) on behalf of all Hollywood Jews.” A Roseanne spokesperson told the New York Post that her words were meant in jest. A DreamWorks rep, swiping back at Roseanne (who claims to have many different personalities), said, “We’re surprised at the comments, because her other personalities have only good things to say about us.”
