The Brian Jones Fan Club is selling tiles from the very swimming pool at the English country house where the legendary Rolling Stones guitarist was found dead (from an overdose) at the age of 27 on July 3, 1969. “It’s not as macabre as it sounds,” club spokesman David Reynolds told the Associated Press. “It’s just owning something that your hero owned and touched and chose.” Tiles are selling for $175 each, with proceeds going to erect a statue of Jones in his hometown of Cheltenham, 120 miles west of London.
