Robin Williams’ guest stint on Monday’s episode of CBS’ “L.A. Doctors” will be a sight more serious than his recent doctoring in “Patch Adams.” While the network and producers have labored to keep the storyline secret, Variety reports that Williams will play a sufferer of neurofibromatosis, a close relative to “Elephant Man’s disease” in that it results in severe facial disfigurement. Williams will be almost unrecognizable because of the tumors that cover more than half his face. In the episode he’s not a patient. His wife is dying, and the doctors are appalled her husband won’t visit — until they find out why he never leaves the house. They eventually coax the heartbroken man to the hospital to say good-bye to his wife.
