Robert Pattinson Says He's 'Definitely' Considering Fatherhood
"I still don't know when," the actor, who is engaged to FKA twigs said, adding, "I will have a child who is totally cool and confident"
Robert Pattinson says that while he may be in the Twilight of his teen-idol years, he is “definitely” on the brink of becoming a father.
“Definitely, although I still don’t know when,” the 29-year-old actor told the German glossy Jolie in an interview that was translated on the Pattinson fan site Thinking of Rob.
“Sure I will have a child who is totally cool and confident,” Pattinson said. “He or she will probably look at me every day and think, ‘Why is this guy such a funny, quirky oddball?’ ”
The actor’s contemplation of fatherhood may also have been sparked by his role in the new film Life, in which he plays a photographer for Life magazine who is assigned to shoot pictures of James Dean.
“I was so attracted by the role in Life,” Pattinson said of the film, whose trailer landed Wednesday. “At my age, you don’t get so many chances to play a father – and certainly not one who leaves his family in the lurch,” he said. “Personally I imagine it different, of course.”
So does his fiancée, who also seems ready for parenthood.
“Women are amazing creatures,” the singer said Monday. “We can give birth. We have a womb. We can create life! … I honestly didn’t give a s— about any of this stuff until about two years ago. I don’t know whether it’s my age – I’m going to be 28 in January – but all of a sudden I started thinking that if I had a daughter, it is gonna be terrifying.”
