After a very public fight that nearly ended Blac Chyna’s engagement with Rob Kardashian, a source tells PEOPLE that the Kardashian family continues to step away from the pair’s roller coaster relationship — and they’re urging him to do the same. Kardashian matriarch (and baby Dream’s grandmother) Kris Jenner is not inviting Chyna to her annual Christmas party.

“Rob’s family is over Chyna,” says the source. “She is not invited to Kris’ holiday party.”

This isn’t the first time the couple has had trouble in their highly public relationship. Here’s a look back at the very high highs and very low lows of their romance.

A whirlwind beginning.

After Chyna posted a now-deleted photo with an unidentifiable man’s tattoo-clad arm to her Instagram, fans suspected the man in question was Rob.

Almost immediate drama.

The budding relationship between Rob and Chyna caused tensions within the Kardashian family – and here’s a brief primer on why: Chyna, 27, is rapper Tyga’s ex, and the two have a son together, King Cairo. And now Tyga is dating Kylie Jenner. Chyna also used to be very close with Kim Kardashian West.

A new lifestyle.

According to several sources close to Kardashian, Rob adopted a healthier lifestyle and more positive outlook after he began dating Chyna. “Rob has fallen hard for Blac Chyna. She makes him super happy, and this is the first time that he’s felt so optimistic about life in years,” a source told PEOPLE. “For the first time in forever, Rob seems very excited about the future.”

Breakup rumors – and the elusive quest for privacy.

In the midst of breakup rumors that arose when he deleted Instagram posts of his girlfriend, Kardashian took to his Instagram to explain what was going on. “It’s impossible to have a positive relationship with so much negativity from the media and outsiders, and we would appreciate it if everyone respects that,” he wrote.

Smiles and getaways.

In March, Rob joined Chyna in Jamaica, where she was set to make a club appearance. The pair were seen cuddling and being affectionate with each other while at the event, according to onlookers. They posted several PDA snaps and Instagrams where they looked impossibly adorable. At one point, Chyna even yelled, “I want to have a baby.”

Families coming together.

Despite a bumpy beginning, the Kardashian family gradually began accepting Rob’s new love. Rob’s mom, Kris Jenner, was one of ChyRo’s biggest supporters. “[She is] actually super stoked on them together now,” a source told PEOPLE. “She feels like Rob was pulled out of his depression phase because of her.” Chyna even joined in on future sister-in-law Khloé’s 32nd birthday party, which was attended by Kim, Kourtney, Kylie and Kris. Rob, too, made an effort to get to know Chyna’s family, spending quality time with her 3-year-old son.

She said yes!

After 10 weeks of dating, Kardashian proposed to Chyna with a 7-carat engagement ring, announcing the news in April.

And just one month later, there was even more reason to celebrate: They announced they’re expecting their first child together. “I can confirm she’s pregnant and of course she’s happy,” Chyna’s rep told PEOPLE.

More drama on Instagram.

Kardashian went on another one of his social media cleanses, wiping all traces of Chyna on his Instagram – leaving just one photo of himself on his account. Yet sources close to Chyna insisted that they weren’t broken up. “They filmed [their upcoming E! reality show] over the weekend and had an argument,” a separate source shared with PEOPLE, adding, “It’s hard to see Rob and Chyna actually splitting. Rob is looking forward to becoming a dad.” Chyna put breakup rumors to rest by flaunting her diamond engagement ring during a beauty tutorial on her Snapchat.

A girl on the way.

In the first episode of their reality show, Rob & Chyna, the pair revealed the sex of their first child together. “Part of life is to build a family and have kids,” the youngest Kardashian sibling told PEOPLE. “And I thank God that we’re able to. It’s very exciting to me to be a first-time dad.”

Bumps in the road.

Rob & Chyna has put their relationship on full display – the ups and the downs. “Part of me wants to take a paternity test,” Chyna told her friend in the first episode of the show. “I don’t even know if I want to stay with Rob,” she added.

Rocky times ahead.

As the reality TV couple is caught in the midst of reports citing relationship troubles, an insider confirms that filming their eponymous E! show is the cause of tension between the two. “Rob’s definitely not in a good place,” a Kardashian source tells PEOPLE. “Filming makes Rob uncomfortable and he’s still trying to get used to that lifestyle.” Meanwhile, the soon-to-be mom finds filming to be “a piece of cake” and actually “loves all the attention,” says the source, adding that Chyna “pushes on him to try and get better at and be more comfortable with filming, but they’re just not in a healthy place.”

A (literal) bump in the road.

Despite those reports, Kardashian revealed in Snapchat videos in September that he’s spending time with his bride-to-be. The posts show Chyna’s tattooed pregnant belly while the father-to-be impatiently urges his unborn child to “move.” In a second video – captioned, “She ain’t moving for the camera” – Chyna show her baby girl kicking and moving inside her belly.

Taking charge of the situation.

In an effort to keep her fiancé from texting other women, Chyna went ahead and posted Kardashian’s phone number on Twitter. “To ensure your man is not texting no bitches just tweet his number out! How’s that feel Rob?” Chyna says in a Snapchat video after posting the tweet, showing Kardashian next to her, looking down at his phone. “Feels good,” he smiles back at her. Chyna then snaps: “Get your number changed! Thank you.”

Practicing parenting skills.

In late October, Kardashian and Chyna seemed to be getting along when the trio spent the day at Disneyland with Chyna’s 4-year-old son King alongside with Chyna’s pale Amber Rose and her 3-year-old Sebastian Taylor. The expecting mother documented the day’s events on her Snapchat, posting a photo of Kardashian and King sporting big smiles as they played a Toy Story-themed game at the park.

Baby bliss.

The duo welcomed daughter Dream on Nov. 10, and both parents showed off photos with their child.

“Today was amazing. I am so lucky!! Thank you [Chyna] for having our baby and being so strong! I love you so much and can’t wait to see her get older day by day with you Chy! I love you and Dream so much and Appreciate both of you,” the new dad wrote alongside a snap of his newborn baby girl on Instagram.

What’s in a name?

Drama between Chyna and the Kardashian family heated up again when documents surfaced that the famous clan is trying to block her from trademarking “Angela Renée Kardashian” to use while working in entertainment and on her social media.

According to the documents, the family’s lawyers claim they will “suffer damage including irreparable injury to their reputation and goodwill” if Chyna takes trademarks the Kardashian name.

However, a source close to Chyna says, “She’s not trying to do anything negative. She wants to trademark the name because it will be her name when she gets married and she wants to protect it. It’s also her daughter’s last name and she wants to share a last name with her daughter.”

On Dec. 15, Chyna and Kardashian spent some quality one-on-one time together at home — and documented their PDA on social media — amid news that their E! reality show, Rob & Chyna, had been renewed for a second season.

Trouble at Christmas.

Just three days after sharing footage of their cuddle session, Chyna’s Instagram account was hacked, with the anonymous hacker claiming she had left Kardashian and they were going to “expose” the reality star and how she was using Kardashian while allegedly cheating on him with other men. Chyna later confirmed that the private messages and text conversations the hacker leaked were true, and even implied that Kardashian was involved in her “hack.”

The same weekend, Kardashian took to his Snapchat to claim Chyna “took the baby, took the whole nursery we built” while sharing footage of empty rooms in the couple’s shared home. He also said Chyna wasn’t letting him see their daughter.

“She blocked me or else I would ask to see her and she has the guard gate not letting me in the gate either. I just miss baby Dream.” In a since-deleted post, Chyna said Kardashian could come see Dream if he wanted to because he “knows where we are.”

A family snub.

An inside source tells PEOPLE that Kris Jenner is not inviting Chyna to her annual Christmas party.

“Rob’s family is over Chyna,” says the source. “She is not invited to Kris’ holiday party.”

The source continues, “Rob’s family is trying to distance themselves from Chyna. They can’t stand the toxic relationship. They very much care about baby Dream though. It’s just come to the point when they think Rob is better off without being in a relationship with Chyna.”

Another insider also told PEOPLE that Kardashian’s famous mom and siblings “don’t support the relationship” any more.

“At least some of his family members want Rob to split up with Chyna so they can say, ‘We told you so Rob. You deserve better,’ ” the insider added.
