E.T., the star of the 1982 blockbuster, as a safety ambassador in an upcoming 1999 “Buckle-Up-America” public service TV ad campaign that will include the Super Bowl. “I’m extremely pleased that the values symbolized by E.T. will be used to aid and address the issues of safe driving,” says his creator, Steven Spielberg.
