Renée Zellweger, Jennifer Garner, Reese Witherspoon and Courteney Cox Support Team Nanci in ALS Walk
Many of Hollywood's leading ladies participated in the walk to support ALS in previous years
Sunday’s Walk to Defeat ALS in Los Angeles was a star-studded event thanks to A-list supporters of Nanci Ryder.
Witherspoon even posed with Ryder, Cox and others in their matching ensembles.
“Walking today to support #ALS research, with our friend Nanci Ryder who has done so much for all of us,” she captioned the snap. “We ❤️you Nanci!”
“I’m just here because I love Nanci Ryder, and I would do anything for her, and I would do anything to help find a cure for this disease, and if we can get more awareness, more money, or just more support,” Cox told PEOPLE. “They’re chipping away at it, they’re doing great work, but we have to just keep going.”
“It’s wonderful that everyone comes out. It’s so nice that everybody whose career she has fostered, who she has given so much to, is here showing their love for her today. It’s an inspiring day,” Zellweger told PEOPLE at the event.
“[Ryder] is my friend.. I love her… and I just.. I just show up,” she continued. “When she asks for me, when she needs me, I just keep doing what we always do. We just continue on our journey as friends. It’s hard to watch her struggling, and watch her having to come to terms with the new stages as her disease progresses, but easy like today, when everybody shows up to show their love and support for her makes her feel less alone in what she’s experiencing, so I’m really grateful for this day, and this team of people.”
“You just show up,” Witherspoon echoed to PEOPLE. “We have an incredible group of organized people, so when Renee calls me I just show up, or when Courteney calls me we just rally. Nanci has a great team around her, a great group of people that she has done so much for over the years, and we just motivate each other and keep constantly in touch with each other. It’s been incredible to see how connected her friends are, and her friends are her family.”
Emmy Rossum and Katharine McPhee have also participated in past walks.
