Renée Zellweger and White Stripes rocker Jack White have split after more than a year and a half together.

The actress’s publicist tells PEOPLE the pair broke up in September, “and they remain good friends. No scandal. No new relationships.”

The newly single Zellweger spent Christmas Day with family members at the Los Angeles Lakers-Miami Heat game in L.A.

Zellweger, 35, has always remained quiet about her relationship with Grammy winner White, 29, whom she met while filming the 2003 Civil War epic Cold Mountain. (White plays a troubadour in the film and contributed to the movie’s soundtrack.) Though both stars were closely guarded about their romance, the couple did attend this year’s Oscars together, where she won Best Supporting Actress for the film.

Next up: Zellweger is prepping for the June release of Cinderella Man, a Ron Howard drama costarring Russell Crowe. White, meanwhile, is up for more Grammy honors for collaborating with country legend Loretta Lynn on her album, Van Lear Rose.
