The woman who allegedly married Reese Witherspoon‘s father while he was still wed to the actress’s mother is denying claims in an emotionally charged conservatorship case.

Tricianne Taylor is accused in Tennessee of changing John Witherspoon’s will and taking out loans as Mrs. John Witherspoon, according to court papers filed by Betty Witherspoon, who has been married to John for 42 years.

Saying that the 70-year-old John may have dementia and other problems, including alcoholism, Betty is seeking to annul an apparent January wedding between John and Taylor.

“She vehemently denies those allegations,” Taylor’s attorney, Joe Brandon Jr., tells the Associated Press. “She’s devastated, and we don’t have any further comment.”

The pregnant Oscar-winning actress and her brother attended a hearing with their father in Nashville last month and a judge appointed a lawyer to looking into the matter, AP reports.
