They didn’t have Abbott & Costello, but Wednesday’s CMT Music Awards included many guest presenters who still gave the show plenty of comic relief.

Among the night’s notable pairings:

Reba McEntire and Kenan Thompson. Thompson appeared first, wearing a green dress and doing his Reba impression from Saturday Night Live. Soon, Reba herself showed up, in the same outfit. “Aren’t you embarrassed of yourself?” she asked. He replied: “Yeah I’m embarrassed. I’m embarrassed that someone showed up in the same dress as me.” Reba: “You can’t be Reba, you’re too dark.” Kenan: “Um, pardon?” Reba: “I’m ginger with highlights, and you’re a solid auburn!”

Celebrity chef Paula Deen and Jersey Shore‘s Nicole ‘Snooki’ Polizzi and Mike ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino. “Who did your hair, Crisco?” Deen asked Sorrentino, who promptly lifted his shirt to show off his ripped abs. “Oh my goodness, I could grate cheese on that thing, y’all,” Deen said. Polizzi and Sorrentino then gave Deen her own Jersey-girl nickname, “Mama Ho Cake,” and tried to explain their credo of GTL (gym, tan, laundry). But Deen said she had GTL covered. “I garnish, I tenderize, and then I lard,” she said.

Erin Andrews and Maksim Chmerkovskiy. “Were you a big fan of country music growing up in the Ukraine?” Andrews asked. “Of course,” Maks replied. “I grew up line dancing and listening to all the Ukrainian classics: Rascal Flattski, the Zac Yeltsin Band, Lady Kremlin.”

Terrell Owens and Kellie Pickler. The free-agent pro football player sang a few off-key bars of Willie Nelson’s “Mama Don’t Let Your Babies Grow Up to Be Cowboys.” But Pickler cut him off, saying: “The [Tennessee] Titans might sign you, just so you don’t sing no more!”
