Just as the Golden Globes hangover is finally wearing off – and a day before Thursday’s announcement of the Oscar nominees – here comes Hollywood’s annual spitball: the Razzie nominations, announced Wednesday morning to shed a special light on the worst screen achievements of 2014.

Heading the dishonor roll is Michael Bay’s Transformers: Age of Extinction, with an impressive seven nominations, including worst picture, sequel and screenplay. Kirk Cameron’s Saving Christmas and The Legend of Hercules follow, with six nods each.

As a sign that hope springs eternal, and to celebrate the fact that the Golden Raspberry Awards (their official title) are turning 35, Razzies founder John Wilson also announced the initiation of a brand new category: the Razzie Redeemer Award, for those former Razzie winners and nominees whose careers bounced back last year thanks to movies finally worthy of their talents.
