Ratings: Fox Network Hits a Home Run
The game might have been a tie, but it was a ratings winner. Coverage of last week’s Major League Baseball All-Star Game, which ended in a 7-7 tie, gave the Fox network the number-one TV ranking. Series repeats, newsmagazines, and reality shows also scored big, reports the Associated Press, while three shows – “Dateline NBC – Tuesday,” “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” and “Holy Joe” – all tied for tenth place. According to Nielsen Media Research, the top 10 television shows for the week of July 8-14 are as follows:
1. “Major League Baseball All-Star Game,” Fox, 10.0 million homes
2. “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation,” CBS, 9.3 million homes
3. “Everybody Loves Raymond,” CBS, 8.6 million homes
4. “Major League Baseball All-Star Preview,” Fox, 8.5 million homes
5. “Law & Order,” NBC, 8.3 million homes
6. “60 Minutes,” CBS, 7.8 million homes
7. “Becker,” CBS, 7.6 million homes
8. “48 Hours — Monday,” CBS, 7.5 million homes
9. “The Horse Whisperer,” ABC, 7.4 million homes
10. “Holy Joe,” CBS; “Dateline NBC — Tuesday” NBC; and “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” NBC, 6.2 million homes
