Up-and-coming singer Rachel Platten is premiering the video for her hit “Fight Song” this week, and PEOPLE has the first look at her latest release.

The New York City-based singer-songwriter is touring this summer with Colbie Caillat and Christina Perri.

Platten, 33, has gotten great response for her inspirational song.

“I believe there is power in sharing the personal battles that we are fighting to overcome – it shows us all that we aren’t alone,” she wrote on her website.

“I wish I could meet everyone that the song has touched, but that might be difficult.”

As for the inspiration for the song, she told PEOPLE: “‘Fight Song’ tells the story of my struggle with self-doubt, yet it’s also a declaration to not give up on myself no matter what.

“I wanted my video to show both sides of that – my fear and pain – but I also hoped to show that sometimes to overcome battles we just have to let go.”

The full video will be released Tuesday.
