Last week, medical researchers claimed that men who are balding at the crowns of their head run a higher risk of high blood-pressure and its resultant problems (including suffering a stroke) than their full-haired brothers. Now comes word from a Yale researcher that when people’s hair is out of place, they are bound to feel less confident, less social, less smart and less capable. Furthermore, the researcher wasn’t talking strictly about women: Men were found to be more likely to feel unsure about themselves when their hair is a mess or when their barber botches up their heads. The study, released Wednesday, was financed by Procter & Gamble, which manufactures hair care products.
