Season 2
Dao, 34, is still relishing the perks of winning Project Runway, such as being the guest of honor at a Hard Rock party in Las Vegas recently. "I was like, 'I'm a little bit of Paris Hilton. I'm being paid to party!'" But it's more work than play these days: The designer, who dates mortgage broker Kenneth Pursley and still lives at home with Mom, is busy expanding her Houston boutique Lot 8. "I'm married to my work."

JAY MCCARROLL

Season 1
After turning down the $100,000 seed money from winning Runway to start his own fashion line ("I can't talk about it – I'll probably get sued," he says), the outspoken winner will finally debut his spring-summer 2007 collection at New York Fashion Week in September. "I took my time," the 31-year-old says. And though he lives in New York City, he doesn't exactly have a home base. "I'm kind of a squatter," he says. "All of my money went into this business."

Season 2
The flamboyant third-place finisher, 31, has parlayed his Runway fame into a successful custom-design business. "Everywhere I go, people know me," says the St. Charles, Mo., native, who lives in Los Angeles and counts Dave Navarro, Rebecca Romijn and Will Ferrell among his fans. And what about the egocentric reputation he developed on the show? "The bottom line is that I'm passionate and I'm honest, and I'm not fake."

Season 1
"It's been great exposure and great visibility," says Saun, 39, about Runway. And the L.A.-based designer has run with it, putting together her own eponymous line, which she debuted at L.A. Fashion Week earlier this year. One of her post-show highlights: getting to speak to 1,000 Girl Scouts at their yearly convention. "I love going to speak to kids – it's one of my favorite things," says Saun.

Season 2
When you walk into the new NYLO chain of hotels, you'll see the 25-year-old designer everywhere – on the staff uniforms, that is. "They came to me for outfits," he says. "It's such a great project." But Vosovic, who lives in New York City, is holding off on creating his own collection while he learns the ropes of the fashion biz. "I don't want to jump into something where I feel I'm over my head."

Season 1
Pepper, the long-shot designer mom from Middleburg, Va., whom everyone loved to hate, says the show "was a transformative experience." Shortly after Runway's wrap, she shed 40 lbs. and gave her own auf wiedersehen to her husband of five years, woodworker Robert Downing. Now 41, she's designing clothes for private clients and has since appeared on Bravo's Celebrity Poker Showdown and last August's Battle of the Network Reality Stars.

Season 2
As a professor at L.A.'s Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, Verreos, 39, is passing on the pearls of wisdom he learned on Runway. And he's going full-steam ahead with a fashion line with his partner of 14 years, David Paul – Nikolaki (Greek for "little Nick"). Another coup: Verreos has gotten calls from such celebrity fashionistas as Sarah Jessica Parker. "My presence on the show has taken things to another level," he says.

KARA JANX

Season 2
The emotional Janx shed tears over not making it to the final three last season, but these days it's sew happy for the Johannesburg, South Africa, native. After Michael Kors gave props to her kimono dress on the show, her business has taken off. "It's been spectacular for me," says Janx, who also recently completed her fall ready-to-wear collection. But the 30-year-old has her most important design project ahead of her: her wedding dress for her January nuptials to commercial real-estate broker Sharone Sohayegh.

Season 1
Edged out of the final three by Wendy Pepper, Scarlett, 25, has since found a perfect outlet for his romantic designs: bridal couture. As the head designer of Kenneth Pool, a division of Amsale, Scarlett says, "A wedding dress is so special. To be a part of so many women's lives in that way really means a lot." And the New York transplant, who's "proud" to have been part of the show, still goes to den father Tim Gunn for "advice or the latest Project Runway gossip."
