Celebrate Prince's New Album by Buying the House from Purple Rain
It's only $110,000, but it's going to need some work
His Purple Badness Prince is releasing a new album later this year with his band 3rdEyeGirl. Described alternately to the BBC as “phenomenal,” “experimental” and “super funky,” the album titled HITNRUN will be out “hopefully soon.”
And if you’re a Prince completist, why not celebrate the release of the new album by buying the house from 1984’s Purple Rain? (Not Prince’s purple house; that was actually bulldozed a decade ago.)
Yes, The Kid’s house at 3420 Snelling Avenue in Longfellow, Minneapolis, is on the market for the low, low price of $110,000. That figure, and the fact that the listing implores a buyer to “revitalize this historic home,” is probably a warning to prospective buyers as to its condition, but we’d never let that get in the way of owning a piece of Prince history.
One caveat, though: You’ll have to buy housequake insurance.
