Will & Kate's Cutest Family Photos – So Far!
It's the moment we've all been waiting for: The first official portrait of Will, Kate, and their two children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte. The photo, snapped by Mario Testino (one of Princess Diana's favorite photographers), is everything we wanted it to be: a sweet family shot with two adorable kids.
Princess Kate and Princess Charlotte in July 2015
It may have been Charlotte's christening, but George, clad in a strangely familiar red-and-white smocked set, got nearly all the attention when he, his sister and his parents stepped out for the first time as a family of four.
A polo player in training? For the second year in a row, Kate took George to watch Dad play polo – and gave us some sweet family snaps in the process.
Following family tradition, nearly 2-year-old Prince George made his Buckingham Palace balcony debut – in some of Dad's childhood duds, of course. Naturally, Mom and Dad were there to help him perfect his wave.
ALL IN THE FAMILY
Ever since Prince William and Duchess Kate welcomed Prince George on July 22, 2013, we've been following their every adorable move as if we were members of the royal family, too. The photographs shot at London's Natural History Museum and released leading up to the young prince's first birthday might just be the cutest to date. But with the news the family is set to welcome their second child, the cutest may be yet to come.
FLOATS LIKE A BUTTERFLY
In the other photo released before Prince George's birthday, the family of three gets up close and personal with a very beautiful new pal. "They seemed to enjoy their visit, wandering through the tropical plants as brightly colored butterflies took flight around them," said Sir Michael Dixon, director of the Natural History Museum.
HEIR HE IS!
Naturally, one look was all it took for us to fall in love with Prince George (and William and Kate's newfound role as parents). The little royal set a photogenic precedent just one day after his birth as he made his debut in his proud mother's arms outside of London's St Mary's Hospital.
GRANDPA KNOWS BEST
Just a few days shy of Prince George's one-month 'birthday,' William and Kate released two informal family photos (dogs included!) taken at the Middleton home in Bucklebury. Breaking from the royal tradition of an official portrait shot by a professional photographer on palace grounds, the casual garden pictures were snapped by the duchess's father, Michael.
A ROYAL CHRISTENING
Another milestone we had the pleasure of witnessing: It was a sentimental moment for William and Kate as they brought their 3-month-old into his October 2013 christening at the Chapel Royal in London's St. James's Palace.
A HOLD ON YOU
Months later, the royals' April tour of New Zealand and Australia could only mean one thing: lots and lots of adorable photo ops! Looking like any young family, the Duke and Duchess stayed close to their 8-month-old at a playdate sponsored by the Royal New Zealand Plunket Society at Government House in Wellington, the first stop on their three-week tour.
We meant what we said about lots and lots of adorable photo ops! The family happily showed off their wild side as the prince met his match: George the bilby, named to celebrate the royal's birth at Sydney's Taronga Zoo. Their bonding activity of choice? Opening the Prince George Bilby Exhibit.
Their family fun at the zoo made us melt even more when it became clear Prince George enjoyed one of his tour gifts just a bit more than the other. "Munch, munch, munch," said William as his son tried to chew on a sticker.
The furry family moments continued as George received yet another notable gift: a stuffed wombat from his family's Australian hosts, Sir Peter Cosgrove and his wife, Lady Cosgrove. Our interpretation of the prince's expression: "Mom and dad, can we keep it? Pleaaase?"
LET'S FACE IT
And even when Prince George seemed, well, less impressed (such as in this tour shot snapped in New Zealand), we couldn't help but awww over the sight of the royal family.
You can file this one under Mandatory Family Photos: a picture in dad's arms (not that we could ever get enough mommy-son shots with Kate, of course).
MAKING A FUSS
Especially when said shots with Mother involve Prince George acting like your everyday tot, who could use a serious nap.
Ultimately, the family who plays together stays together: Prince William celebrated his first Father's Day in very good (and very, very cute!) company: Wife Kate and their little prince cheered him on from the sidelines at a Cirencester, Gloucestershire, charity polo match – and Dad's going to have another cheerleader soon!
