How’s Prince William’s aim? Not too good, if Princess Kate’s terrified expression is any indication. But all her supposed worries were for nothing: No one was injured in the taking of this photo.
LAUGH IT OFF
Since their arrival in India, Will and Kate have been treated with the utmost respect (and they have the scarves to prove it. But even the royals aren’t exempt from a Bhutanese tradition of calling out obscene chants at rival archers. The crowd called out a rather rude chant while the two were trying their hand at the bow and arrow – but were able to laugh it off.
Is Kate missing Lupo? She got close to another animal – a bit wilder than the one she’s usually with at home – during a visit to Centre for Wildlife Rehabilitation and Conservation at Kaziranga National Park. Seeing Kate with a baby elephant is almost as adorable as seeing her with her own babies – Prince George and Princess Charlotte!
FRIEND FROM HOME
It was an afternoon of elephants for Will and Kate – including one was a familiar exterior! The two helped paint these elephant statues, including one covered in the colors of the Union Jack flag!
Locals were so excited to see Will and Kate they decided to make their own! A number of Indian children wore Will and Kate masks in anticipation of their arrival – and we couldn’t think of a better display of affection for the royal couple.
Most people wouldn’t even try to shake a royal’s hand, so we give this kid extra points for going all in and stepping on Kate’s shoes (he just may have wanted to leave the muddy sneakers at home.)
Okay, so maybe we did expect this one. Princess Kate’s personal assistant slash stylist lugged her boss’ wardrobe off the plane – in a pair of pumps. Maybe Kate’s finesse in heels is contagious.
I WANNA HOLD YOUR HAND
India’s Prime Minister Neandra Modi held on for dear life while shaking William’s hand before a lunch event in New Delhi.
HOME SWEET HOME
Put this one on the palace fridge! Princess Kate drew a picture of her home during a visit to the Salaam Baalak charity in New Delhi.
DARE TO BARE
During a visit to Gandhi’s house, Kate ditched her nude pumps for a decidedly less formal look – bare feet! And – gasp – it seems the royal decided to go pedicure-less for the tour (unless she’s a clear polish fan!)
THE SWORD AND THE BAKED GOODS
Forget the serving knife – Will and Kate went old school (like, really old school) when it came to cutting the Queen’s birthday cake and got themselves using a sword. You know, like they did in Medieval times.
He may be off-duty from his air ambulance pilot job this week, but William proved he loves being behind any sort of wheel, even a miniature video game simulation car.
RIDING THE BUS
They may not be regulars on London’s double deckers, but Will and Kate got a chance to familiarize themselves with life on mass transport during a trip on an open air bus in Mumbai. Royals on public transportation – now that’s the most unexpected moment of all!
WHISTLE WHILE YOU WORK
William’s a musician? Who knew! The prince tried his hand at a little miniature flute playing during a campfire at the Kaziranga National Park.
PULLING A MARILYN
High temperatures and strong winds – this trip to India was made for a wardrobe malfunction. Kate had a true Marilyn moment during a visit to a war memorial in New Delhi when her calf-length skirt nearly blew up. Like the elegant woman she is, Kate simply held it down and went about her day. #Pro.
