The singer and actor covers PEOPLE's latest Pride Issue, and in his interview, gives advice to young people who are feeling pressured to come out.
"There are many, many kids out there that don't have someone to look up to. All they have around them is people telling them, 'What you're feeling is evil,' " he shared. "But, you can't force someone to come out. But if you have an egg and you open it from the outside, only death comes out. But if the egg opens up from the inside, life comes out."
The Rupaul's Drag Race star shared words of encouragement about feeling proud of who you are and the importance of feeling value and purpose.
"I love u all," the star ended the note. "Especially my gays and allies. Happy Pride!"

"One incredible thing Birdie did last year (that I would like to brag about right now😂) is that after seeing all of the beauty products that I was sent by brands that went unused or given away, Birdie decided to start gathering the unopened makeup and hygiene items from me and other influencer types(actors, singers, makeup and hair artists) to donate to the @lalgbtcenter for the queer and trans youth that the Center provides a safe space for," Philipps wrote. "Well. Thanks to many of my friends, Birdie was able to donate HUNDREDS of items to the center."
Last year, Philipps shared that Birdie came out as gay at 10 years old and prefers they/them pronouns.
The actress recalled telling her child at the time, "You get to choose what will make you feel fulfilled and happy. It doesn't have to be any of these constructs that we've all been fed our whole lives. This is a different world that you get to f—ing build."
The star donned her best Donatella and left her followers with this important message: " ... different is beautiful."
