If you thought the music video for Katy Perry‘s “California Gurls” was a sugar rush, the singer proved things were getting even sweeter with the cover art of her latest album.

Perry, 25, ditched her daisy dukes for, erm, her birthday suit on the cover of Teenage Dream, which she unveiled on Wednesday during a Ustream live chat.

“Oh my God, what will my mother think?” Perry asked as she saw the cover art for the first time. “It’s so gorgeous. I’m so excited. I’m nervous. I’m shaking a bit. This will be my first piece of real art.”

Artist Will Cotton painted the cover art, which depicts Perry lying in the buff on a cotton candy cloud. Cotton, who is known for creating surreal candy landscapes, will collaborate with the singer again for her upcoming tour, which will kick off next spring. The album arrives in stores in August.

And there’s another treat for fans! The album booklet is just as sugar-coated as the painting – it’s cotton candy-scented.

“We went through every detail – it even smells like cotton candy!” she says. “It actually stinks.”
