Ashlee Simpson-Wentz and Pete Wentz have gone silent – as part of a protest against the passage of the gay marriage ban in California.

The pair posed for this dramatic shot to support the NOH8 campaign – a photo project created by photographer Adam Bouska and his partner Jeff Parshley in response to the passage of Proposition 8 in California.

The photos, which represent people being silenced by the proposition which struck down the right for gay couples to marry, were shot at the Noho Lofts in North Hollywood on Monday, June 8. Blink 182’s Mark Hoppus was also photographed for the project.
