Philip Seymour Hoffman Calls Fatherhood a 'Revelation'
"I wouldn't trade it for anything," he says if being a dad
Philip Seymour Hoffman is enjoying fatherhood all over again with his 1-year-old daughter Talluhlah, he tells PEOPLE.
“She’s now smiling, standing up,” the Capote Oscar-winner said at the New York afterparty for the premiere of his film Savages Monday.
Hoffman, who already has a 4-year-old son, Cooper, with girlfriend Mimi O’Donnell, says it’s difficult to balance his career and fatherhood, but he wouldn’t have it any other way.
“It’s hard for anybody who works a lot and has children,” he said. “But I wouldn’t trade it for anything. When you become a parent, you look at your parents differently. You look at being a child differently. It’s an awakening, a revelation that you have.”
And he’s happy to be there for the simple moments with his daughter. When she stood up for the first time “I was there when that happened,” he said. “I came back and she was standing!”
