Pete Doherty Is Writing a Musical

Could the troubled musician be Broadway bound?

Pete Doherty is making headlines again – and it’s not about his bad behavior!

The British singer is joining forces with his former Libertines bandmate, Carl Barat, to write a musical for a well-respected London theater, the BBC reports.

The show – about the struggles of an up-and-coming rock band – is “very much in the early stages of development, with no deadlines attached,” confirmed a rep for the Donmar Warehouse theater.

“The theater wants lots of new songs,” Barat told Britain’s Sunday Mirror newspaper. “We’ll probably have to write about 20.”

In the past, the Donmar Warehouse has sent several of its productions to Broadway, including Frost/Nixon, Cabaret and The Blue Room.
