PEOPLE's Go-To Spring Playlist Featuring Ghost Beach, the Knocks and More
Fun, fresh tracks by The Knocks, Tegan and Sara, Ghost Beach and Mr. Little Jeans are part of what make up March's list
The weather is getting warmer (well, for some of us), and the days are getting longer. With spring less than two weeks away, it’s already time to start thinking about the perfect songs for those poolside frolics.
Luckily, there are a handful of freshly released tracks that are fitting for the kickoff to a hopeful resurgence of sunlight, and PEOPLE is bringing that list to you right here.
The Knocks – the electro pop act who released their Comfortable EP earlier this year – are featured twice on the list, enlisting vocals by Ra Ra Riot on “Savior,” and Sneaky Sound System on “The One.”
Another artist listed twice on the list is Portland, Ore.-based RAC, who just released part one of his full-length Strangers album. Tegan and Sara lend their voices on “Hard to Hold,” and “Ello Ello,” featuring Body Language, is just too catchy not to include.
And if you’re not yet familiar with New York City-based duo Ghost Beach, who classify their sound as tropical-grit-pop, their latest single “Every Time We Touch” is included on the list, which follows a previous mention of them in last month’s as well. Check back later this week because the two guys will be providing our readers with a behind-the-scenes look at their SXSW art fest adventures.
For those who are still in the mood to keep things mellow, there are a few songs included that are on the slow side. One particularly of note: “Gooey,” by Glass Animals. Its sexy, mysterious sound is magic to the ears any month of the year.
