From her Oscar win to her highly publicized divorce from Jesse James, Sandra Bullock‘s highs and lows made headlines all year. But no one was dwelling on those lows when Bullock, 46, introduced her 3½-month-old baby Louis in a PEOPLE world exclusive in April. Adopted from New Orleans, the world was just as smitten as Bullock was about her “little Cajun cookie“.

Montag unveiled a whole new look in 2010. After undergoing 10 procedures in one day, the former Hills star, 24, showed off her new, “best me” bod in PEOPLE in January.

4. Jessica Simpson’s Ruby Engagement Ring Read it!
Just five years after her split from Nick Lachey, watching Jessica Simpson, 30, find love again was a much-awaited relief. And there was a lot to look at. Fiancé Eric Johnson proposed to Simpson in November with a three-stone stunner, rounded off with a central ruby and two diamonds.

From her Chantilly lace and silk organza gown to her pooch’s Swarovski crystal-encrusted pink tuxedo, Carrie Underwood spared no expense when planning the wedding of her dreams to Canadian hockey player Mike Fisher in July. After she said “I do,” Underwood, 27, gave PEOPLE readers a glamorous glimpse into her big day.
