He’s played a space captain, a mutant professor and Macbeth, but Sir Patrick Stewart‘s latest (real-life) role? A member of Taylor Swift‘s crew!

“She’s coming to Los Angeles soon, so I’m hoping that we’re going to connect. I mean, Ian [McKellen] and I are in the squad now, so right on!” the actor, 75, told reporters at the premiere of his upcoming Starz show Blunt Talk.

Added the Star Trek and X-Men alum: “I don’t know where you go after that, honestly! That’s an accolade that I never expected but I’m embracing whole-heartedly.”

In July, Stewart and longtime pal McKellen, 76, politely asked the “Wildest Dreams” singer to join her “squad” after doing a dramatic reading of her megahits “Bad Blood” and “Blank Space” on NPR’s “Ask Me Another” program.
