Paris Hilton Jets Off to Asia on Business After Plea Deal
After dodging jail, Hilton decides not to postpone her long-planned trip to the Far East
Paris Hilton is following up her legal scrape in the Wild West with a busy business trip to the Far East.
Hilton, 29, was sentenced to a year’s probation this week after being caught with cocaine in Las Vegas last month. But she avoided jail time, and can now embark on a business tour of Asia that she’s been planning for six months.
She will arrive in Tokyo on Wednesday, then head to Jakarta, Indonesia, on Friday – where she’ll open a new Paris Hilton retail store – and will finish the trip in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
A source tells PEOPLE that Hilton did not want to postpone the visits and let down her fans and franchisees.
Hilton isn’t commenting further on her court case, but a source says she is following the requirements of the plea and will set up her 200 hours of community service “as soon as she returns.”
She is also required to complete a substance-abuse program, and the source says Hilton “has already contacted her doctor to set in place her counseling.”
Hilton will also use the Asia trip to unveil her 2010 fall/winter collection of fashion accessories, which include handbags, watches and her new fragrance, called Tease.
