'Parents' Beats 'Blair Witch'

Despite the hype, the debut of “Blair Witch 2: Book of Shadows” didn’t hold a candle to “Meet the Parents” in theaters over the weekend. “Parents,” starring Robert De Niro and Ben Stiller, maintained its number one position for the fourth week in a row, while the much-anticipated but critically disappointing “Pay It Forward” dipped to the fifth slot, and “Bedazzled,” starring Elizabeth Hurley and Brendan Fraser, sunk to spot number four.
