After a 16-year struggle with Hepatitis C, Pamela Anderson says she’s finally beaten the devastating virus.

The model and actress, who started a new FDA-approved drug regimen over the summer, made the exciting announcement on Instagram Saturday – complete with a nude photo to celebrate.

“I am CURED!!! – I just found out #nomorehepc #thankyou #blessing #family #prayer #live,” Anderson, 48, wrote. “I pray anyone living with Hep C can qualify or afford treatment. It will be more available soon. I know treatment is hard to get still…#dontlosehope.”

Alongside her message of hope, Anderson posted a photo of herself naked in what appears to be a boat. In the image, she laughs and throws her head back while strategically covering herself with both arms.

Pamela Anderson Tells PEOPLE: Tommy Lee Was the Love of My Life

Anderson was diagnosed with Hep C in 2002, something she told PEOPLE initially felt like a “death sentence.”

“I think it really worked on my self esteem,” she revealed. “Even though I may have looked confident on the outside, I think it really was a dark cloud that lingered over me.”

The Baywatch star experimented with various alternative medicines before deciding to try the new anti-viral medication. At the time she said she expected to be cured within a month.

“I don’t have any liver damage and I don’t have any side effects,” she revealed. “I’m living my life the way I want to but it could have eventually have caused me some problems and so it was a real blessing that I was able to get the medicine.”
