Pamela Anderson Lee kicked some sand in the face of her old “Baywatch” buddies during the February sweeps, reports Variety. Lee’s new action series “V.I.P.” beat — albeit narrowly — the enduring “Baywatch,” according to the final national Nielsen surf report. “V.I.P.” averaged a 3.3 household rating during the sweeps period (Feb. 3-March 4), compared with a 3.2 for “Baywatch.” “V.I.P.” enjoyed a wider lead in the demo derby, scoring a 1.9 with adults 18-49, compared with a 1.7 for “Baywatch.”

  • In other TV news, Jane Seymour has signed on to reprise her “Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman” role in a TV movie for CBS, the very network that scrapped the long-running series in 1998. Shooting began this week in Los Angeles, and CBS plans to have the movie on the air in time for May sweeps. While the network has committed to only one picture, sources say CBS is willing to go forward with a series of “Quinn” films should the first one score in the ratings.
