Hip-hop mogul Sean Combs (a.k.a. “P. Diddy”), 32, on Monday put to rest rumors that he and his former girlfriend Jennifer Lopez, 31, had reunited in the wake of J.Lo’s much-publicized split from her husband, Cris Judd, 32, after less than nine months of marriage. “Contrary to reports, Mr. Combs and Ms. Lopez are not together. However, he wishes her well during this difficult time,” said Combs rep Nathalie Moar, as reported by Reuters. The high-profile romance between Lopez and Combs, who was known as “Puff Daddy” at the time, came to an end with a Valentine’s Day 2001 statement from him that their relationship was over. The announcement came while he was on trial in New York on weapons and bribery charges relating to a nightclub shooting in Times Square at which J.Lo was present (Combs was acquitted of all charges in March 2001). Last Friday it was widely reported that Lopez and her dancer-husband had split, with the Associated Press noting that the parting was amicable and there were no immediate plans for divorce. Judd, who was a background dancer in the video for Lopez’s song “Love Don’t Cost a Thing,” recently has been more involved in her career, directing the video for Ja Rule’s remix of her song “Ain’t It Funny” and choreographing her concert special for NBC. The two also collaborated on the song “Alive,” on the soundtrack for her current movie “Enough.” Lopez’s first marriage, to model Ojani Noa, ended in divorce in 1998 after just more than a year.
