What’s an Oscar party without a special cocktail to toast the winners?

Two top drink masters have whipped up specialty drinks to clink on the big night, and they’re guaranteed to fit into any movie-themed bash.

Mixologist Jim Meehan of Manhattan’s secret-chic bar PDT recently concocted a punch inspired by Best Picture nominee War Horse.

Using the recipe for Chatham Artillery Punch as a template, he chose liquors specifically to fit the feel of the movie, like Banks 5 Island rum (“it features three horses on the label,” he says) and Iron Horse Sparkling wine, which he substituted for champagne.

“I think this drink is ready to rumble,” Meehan tells PEOPLE.

War Horse Punch

(Makes around 50 drinks)
3 750-ml bottles Iron Horse Classic Vintage Brut Sparkling Wine
1 750-ml bottle Beefeater Gin
1 750-ml bottle Banks 5 Island Rum
1 750-ml bottle Galliano L Autentico
25 oz. Fresh Lemon Juice
½ tsp nutmeg

Combine liquids in a large punch bowl filled with ice cubes. Grate nutmeg over the surface of the punch (roughly half a teaspoon). Ladle each portion into punch cup, pinch a lemon peel over the surface and serve.

Rooting for another Best Picture contender? Then try a concoction from Dave Winter of the West Hollywood hot spot Eveleigh that’s sure to go well with your Oscar evening.

Red Carpet Rosie

1½ parts Beefeater 24
¾ parts Campari
¾ parts Rosemary simple syrup
¾ parts Lemon Juice

Build ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice and shake, strain into a cocktail glass and garnish with a lemon peel.
