The pooch was there with Stedman and Oprah – and even Halle Berry one night! – for 14 good years. 04 of 06 SOPHIE Arnaldo Magnani/Getty Perhaps more famous than Solomon was Sophie, the black cocker spaniel who joined the family in 1995. Oprah called Sophie "the true love in my life," and the pooch went everywhere with Mom – to the hair salon, to the dog park and especially to work. In 2008, at age 13, Sophie died of kidney failure. 05 of 06 SADIE In 2009, Oprah adopted a blonde cocker spaniel named Sadie (pictured upper left) from PAWS Chicago, a no-kill shelter. Following an introduction on The Oprah Winfrey Show, Sadie's brother Ivan found a home with Oprah, too. She later found out that both dogs had parvovirus. Ivan didn't make it, but Sadie survived, and has been a thriving member of the Winfrey household ever since. 06 of 06 OFFICE DOG Fame Among Oprah's current five dogs – Luke, Layla, Sunny, Lauren and Sadie – there's only one who gets to come to work everyday, and that's Sadie. "She's the mascot for Harpo," Oprah said. "She is my calming mechanism." In exchange, Oprah prepares Sadie's meals and pays for her acupuncture treatments.
