The singer will carry his pal's clubs for the Masters Par 3 Contest on Wednesday
Is One Direction down one more member?
Relax, fangirls: Niall Horan just has a temporary new day job. The 21-year-old singer is hitting the golf course to caddie for his friend Rory McIlroy during the Masters Par 3 Contest on Wednesday, ESPN reports.
McIlroy, 25, is ranked No. 1 in the tournament.
“He’s been excited to come here,” the golfer said of his fellow Irishman. “He’s never been to the Masters. I caught up with him in Australia at the end of last year, and he was really excited, and I said, ‘If you’re available Wednesday afternoon and you want to carry the bag for nine holes, you’re more than welcome.’ ”
Horan has played the sport since he was 12 years old: He was even made an honorary lifetime member of his local club last December, according to the Irish Mirror.
One Direction made headlines last month when Zayn Malik announced he was leaving the group five years after the boy band shot to international stardom on The X Factor.
