Olivia Wilde: I Feel 'Wobbly' After Divorce
The actress opens up about splitting from a prince – and all those dating rumors
At 18, Olivia Wilde eloped with an Italian prince, beginning a married life complete with a 1,000-year-old castle. But there was no fairy-tale ending.
Wilde, 27, separated from her husband, Tao Ruspoli last winter, and in March, she filed for divorce.
“The trauma of the whole thing has been humbling, and for the first time, I’m a little bit wobbly,” the Cowboys and Aliens actress tells Marie Claire.
“But I think it’s very healthy to spend time alone. You need to know how to be alone and not be defined by another person.”
Despite the split, Wilde says that there is no bad blood between her and her ex-husband. “Even though it didn’t work, there’s nothing I regret about any of it,” she says. “We’re friends; his family is my family.”
And while she may be spending time alone, the House M.D. actress has also been spotted in the company of some of Hollywood’s hottest bachelors in recent weeks, including Bradley Cooper, Jake Gyllenhaal, Ryan Reynolds and Justin Timberlake.
But Wilde stresses that she’s not involved with anyone and that her growing stardom isn’t helping her love life – or the rumors surrounding it.
“It makes dating harder,” she reports. “You go on one date and everyone thinks you’re dating.”
