The Los Angeles coroner has revealed the cause of death of Andrew Getty, who was found dead in his Los Angeles home in March.
Larry Dietz, L.A. County Coroner watch commander told PEOPLE on Tuesday that the 47-year-old heir to J. Paul Getty’s billion-dollar oil dynasty died from a gastrointestinal hemorrhage, acute meth intoxication, heart disease and duodenal ulcers.
Getty, who had told his assistant he was feeling ill several days before his death, was discovered in his bathroom by his ex-girlfriend, Lanessa DeJonge, who had been ordered to stay away from his home.
In April, the L.A. county coroner’s assistant chief Ed Winter told PEOPLE that Getty had most likely died of natural causes due to “gastrointestinal bleeding” but was awaiting toxicology results because of medication found at the scene.
The coroner’s report revealed that Getty had acute meth intoxication.
