The two largest of the seven surviving octuplets have been upgraded from critical to serious condition and moved out of intensive care. Echerem and Jioke Louis, a girl and a boy, were moved Wednesday from the neonatal intensive care unit at Texas Children’s Hospital to a nursery designed for tiny infants strong enough to survive outside the ICU. The other four girls and one boy remained in critical but stable condition in the ICU. The eighth baby, Odera, died a week after birth. Doctors said one of the girls, Chidi, has been removed from milk and formula feedings because of suspected inflammation of the intestinal tract.
