O.J.'s 911 Call

O.J. Simpson said Tuesday that a call he made to 911 to get help for a woman on cocaine turned into a big misunderstanding. Simpson called 911 Sunday night, saying he was trying to get help for an unnamed woman who had allegedly been on a two-day cocaine binge with a former baseball player. Simpson, 52, placed the call from the townhouse of his 26-year-old girlfriend, Christie Prody, in Miami-Dade County, Fla. A police report, however, said Simpson subsequently told officers who showed up at the house that he was trying to get help for Prody. Simpson denied that Prody was the person on the drug binge he had described to police in his phone call. He told the Associated Press Tuesday that he was trying to get help for one of Prody’s friends, whom he identified as “Pinky.” Police said the case was closed.
