Nuts for 'Peanuts'

This Saturday in the funny papers, several of the nation’s cartoonists will be honoring the late “Peanuts” creator Charles M. Schulz. “Just about every strip will be about ‘Peanuts’ in one way or another,” Daryl Cagle, president of the National Cartoonists Society, told the Associated Press. “They’re doing different things. Some are little gags, some are moving, some are — what can I say? Everybody does it their own way.” The tributes will appear on the same day that Schulz’s widow, Jean, is presented the society’s lifetime achievement award in New York. Schulz died of colon cancer in February, after drawing his beloved “Peanuts” for 50 years.
