Celebrity Nikki Reed and Ian Somerhalder: The Only Thing We Argue About Is the Color of His Eyes The newly engaged couple also talk to reporters about their shared desire to better the world By Kathy Ehrich Dowd Published on February 28, 2015 02:10 PM Share Tweet Pin Email Trending Videos Photo: David Livingston/Getty Prepare to be jealous of one of Hollywood’s hottest couples. Turns out newly engaged couple Nikki Reed and Ian Somerhalder get along so well they only argue about one thing: the color of Somerhalder’s hauntingly beautiful eyes. “He thinks his eyes are ocean blue and I think they’re aqua,” Reed, 26, jokingly told reporters while standing next to her fiancé at the 3rd annual Noble Awards Friday in Beverly Hills, California, where they both picked up awards for their charity work. Further proof this couple is perfect? When initially asked what they fight about, the couple replied “I don’t think anything” – in unison! “[Nothing] really!” Somerhalder, 36, said. “I know it sounds stupid.” Another reason these two are such a perfect match? They literally wake up in the morning simultaneously thinking about how to make the world a better place. “We do wake up in the morning and talk about those things,” Reed, who was wearing N: Philanthropy to the event, said. “That’s the revelation that I’ve had in the last couple of years is understanding my role in this, and that one individual can actually do something, can change the world.” The Twilight alum, who was honored for her work with animals in an award Somerhalder presented, says their shared passion to help the world around them is a key element in their bond. “I think it all stems around the idea that everything is connected,” she explained. “And so what’s actually I think nurtured this long friendship that we’ve had is that we are passionate about similar things.” The star also opened up – at least a bit – about the engagement ring The Vampire Diaries star presented her in January. “I love it more than anything in the world!” she declared. And who can blame her? • Reporting by REAGAN ALEXANDER
