Former Top Chef contestant Nikki Cascone, who just gave birth to a baby boy, recently welcomed another Top Chef contestant, Angelo Sosa, at her brand new restaurant Octavia’s Porch in New York’s Lower East Side for some Italian and Jewish-inspired food.
Among the popular menu items: a hot toddy, which, given the cold weather, has medicinal properties.
Want to try Cascone’s drink yourself? Here’s the recipe for the Cold Buster from Octavia’s Porch:
Brew 1 glass of hot black tea
Add 1½ oz of rye (Recommended: Old Overholt)
1 tablespoon of honey
1 pinch of cayenne pepper
1 dash of cinnamon
Mix all of the ingredients in a shaker and serve hot in a mug.
