Nicole Kidman’s bronchial infection has gotten the better of her, and her limited-run, sold-out Broadway show is now officially closed, one week early. “The Blue Room,” British playwright David Hare’s highly hyped (but very antiseptic) adaptation of the Arthur Schnitzler play “La Ronde,” became the hottest drama ticket of the season, thanks largely to Kidman’s brief nude scenes — 14 seconds’ worth, by one count. “I am truly devastated not to complete the last week of the run and deeply apologize to the people who have planned to attend those performances,” the actress, who is married to Tom Cruise, said in a statement. A spokesperson for Kidman says her doctors have ordered complete vocal rest for the next three weeks.
