HERE COMES THE BRIDE
Leaving London’s exclusive Claridge’s hotel ahead of her Friday wedding, Nicky Hilton debuts her custom Valentino gown for the first time. She spent six months working with Valentino couturiers to bring her dream gown to life, she told Harper’s Bazaar. “I went through every look from their collections over the last 10 years,” she said. “I studied the archives, and I just sent notes about details I liked – a certain sleeve, a high neckline.”
GOING TO THE CHAPEL
A TRAILING TRAIN
Like a few other famed London brides (ahem, Princess Kate and Princess Diana), Hilton doesn’t hold back when it comes to a long train (or veil!) for her gown.
Looks like someone else is excited, too! Like maid of honor Paris, the flower girls don blue, their dresses custom-made by Marie-Chantal Children, a children’s clothing line from Marie-Chantal, the Crown Princess of Greece.
Nicky is escorted by Rick as they leave Claridge’s. The socialite wed banking heir James Rothschild, whom she’s been seeing since 2011. The couple got engaged while vacationing in Lake Como, Italy, last August.
BACK IT UP
A view of Nicky’s custom Valentino dress from the back. When it was time for the heiress to find a wedding gown, there was no choice on who she’d turn to for the design. “Ever since I was a little girl I wanted Valentino to design my wedding dress,” she told Harper’s Bazaar. “Valentino is the definition of timeless elegance, I don’t think there’s another couture house like it.”
Arm in arm, the newlyweds leave the Orangery at Kensington Palace after the ceremony, surrounded by photographers. Take comfort in this: Whether you’re an heir or heiress or not, you still have to suffer through hours of photos like the rest of the world. Congrats to the happy couple!
